DEFROST SYSTEM
Evaporator defrost with liquid carrier
Saving on defrosts

Liquid carrier defrost system is intended for melting of hoar-frost, formed on the fins of evaporator of the low temperature cabinet.

The principle of operation of this system is the following – heated liquid carrier is forwarded into a specially designed section of the evaporator. Liquid carrier is heated by the thermal energy drawn off the refrigerant.

Liquid carrier is heated between defrost cycles and is forwarded to at the command of control system. Heated liquid carrier circulates between defrost unit (1) and cabinets (2), helping to maintain the necessary temperature inside pipelines nearby the cabinets.

In this moment heat, necessary for quick defrost, is being accumulated. Then heat carrier while moving through evaporator (3) is being heated by compressed hot refrigerant and arrives to the accumulating tank (4) and pushes out cold carrier into the pipelines and then to heat exchanger for heating.

By the time of defrost cycle heat carrier is fully heated both in accumulating tank and pipelines. In the moment of the defrost start hot liquid carrier arrives into the cabinet evaporator and melts hoar frost and eventual ice formations. After being cooled down, it is back into accumulating tank and forces out hot carrier, which goes to refrigeration cabinets. In this way accumulating tank provides constantly high temperature of the liquid carrier used by the cabinets during defrost cycle.

Defrost unit is equipped with the appliances, having the alarm and informational functions. These appliances send information about defrost unit current status to a remote control desk. This function is provided with computer monitoring system. Owing to application of this defrost system hoar frost elimination goes much more quickly and efficiently. But the main advantage of this defrost system is that the defrost process itself does not require electric power. In our case we use heat previously thrown away. This innovation has been developed and patented by Aisberg engineers.

New defrost system advantages

  • Electric resistances are not used during defrost cycle
  • Defrosts frequency reduction
  • Reduction of defrost cycle duration
  • End defrost temperature reduction
