     I have started learning the effect of cold on the human body while studying in Postgraduate Institute of Refrigeration. There are a lot of ways of using cold in medicine: cryomedicine, burns cooling, intensive care, anesthesia and this is not the whole list of cold medicine.
     Useful properties of pouring cold water have long been known and are broadly used nowadays. In winter you can see a lot of undressed people on the coast of Black sea in Odessa, who bathe and feel themselves rather comfortable.
     I have started to take alternative shower while being a student. I have managed to get rid of studying overload, tiredness and insomnia with a help of thermal effects of contrast shower. However, in summer the temperature of water becomes too high to get required results. Within years of using contrast shower you usually wish to get colder temperature each time.

     5 years ago I started to investigate this problem. By the principle of the boiler with hot water, I have developed and manufactured a boiler with a cooling system, which allows to get water of desired temperature. I connected the valves in the water supply system at a common collector, and now, with hot, cold, icy water of the three lines, regulated by three adjustable vents, I got the opportunity to choose the desired temperature of cold water and the most comfortable mode of its application. I decreased the temperature of water by about one degree in three months.
     Nowadays I keep the temperature of 1,5 – 2,5 °Ñ and I take the ice-cold shower twice a day: in the morning and in the evening after woks.

    Some effects that I can state:
  • immediate reduction of tiredness in the evening;
  • charging with energy every morning;
  • sharp reduction in colds and other diseases;
  • hair growth activation;
  • improvement of skin and body tone.

     The lower is the water temperature, the better effect is seen.
     Last year I decided to give everyone an opportunity to use an ice-cold shower by developing a device into serial production. Since there are no analogs of it, its design is exclusive and is now being patented.
     The device provides temperature control, hygiene, accurate temperature, automatic air reset, etc.
     The «Ice-cold Shower» device can be connected to the existing shower with a special adapter and installation of an additional valve.
     This is the first official information about new device and in fact its first advertising.

«Historical and scientific facts about the hardening - conditioning to the cold»

     Extant hardening experience totals over a thousand years. Abu Ali ibn Sina (Avicenna) in VIII-IX centuries have created the «Canon of Medicine». He divided medicine into two parts: theoretical and practical, and the last – on the science of health care and science of treatment of the body. In one of chapters of the Avicena's masterpiece, he speaks about bathing in cold water, including small children, as well as the methods of training to a peculiar hardening for travelers in a hot desert and in cold winter weather. The oldest Russian chronicler Nestor in the X century, described how the babies immediately after their birth were taken to the steam bath and then bathed in cold water. The Scythians, according to Herodotus and Tacitus, bathed their babies in cold water. Yakut rubbed the newborns with snow and drenched with cold water several times a day. Residents of the Northern Caucasus washed their children below the waist with very cold water twice a day from their first day of life.
     In the Renaissance, hardening was considered one of the most important tasks in the education of children, this was especially emphasized in the writings of T. Campanella, John Locke. German Doctor X. Gufeland at his work «The Art of extending human life» (1796) has pointed out that the hardening is an effective method of preventing many diseases.
     Hardening of the body - the formation and improvement of functional systems to improve the body's immunity, which ultimately leads to a decrease the risk of colds.
     And nowadays, Hardening has also particular importance for many people. Even during the Soviet Union Valentin Tolkachev, International Academic of Gerontology, Master of Sports of the USSR proved his theory that pouring cold water increases the bioelectrical activity of the organism, ie, biological potential, which depends largely on the level of human health. He proposed a comprehensive system of healing, which includes a sober lifestyle, as well as hardening - dousing with cold water and dipping in the ice hole.
     The therapeutic effect of rapid cooling of the body is now used in the official medicine. In particular, Canadian researchers from the University of Toronto conducted a comprehensive study on the effect of cold on the human body. They found that dose-effect of low temperatures increases the production of hormones of happiness - serotonin and endorphins. Scientists believe that the gradual and metered-dose procedure with cold water, produce a good effect in the treatment of neuroses and depressions. Tempering with cold water increases the mental stability and mental efficiency. It is possible that our ancestors intuitively discovered all these useful effects arising from to the sharp decrease in ambient temperature.
     Scientists and doctors believe that the most effective, if not the only effective method to increase resistance to external factors is hardening. Temper the body can be at any age. It can never be late to start fighting for your own health. The most effective procedure the one that began in childhood. It is a powerful tool that provides a normal course of growth and development of the child.
     The literature as well as Internet sources describe a positive experience of hardening of children in family conditions, kindergartens, schools, this is where they are for significant time of day. So, for example, in kindergarten «Teddy Bear» in Melitopol children poured cold water in the cold. Pupils Melitopol kindergarten «Mishka» daily run barefoot on the asphalt and poured cold water. Thus, according to the program developed by the kindergarten, kids, first warm up their muscles in the gym and then go out into the street and poured himself with water from buckets. Three-year old children wetting the legs only and older ones poured completely. Such procedures were performed even in the freezing cold -10 °C. This hardening practice is being working for already 15 years. In this kindergarten, children are always healthy and cheerful. Experience of health groups, organized in kindergartens has convincingly shown that the tendency to respiratory infections can be overcame. For a year in this group the child gets for what there was no patience and sometimes the knowledge or skills from their mothers: physical training, daily spend tempering procedure, long walks in the fresh air. All of these measures for one year only helped to reduce almost twice the incidence of children.
     These examples demonstrate the enormous potential of strength of hardening procedures. We are talking about children's health and, therefore, feeling, mood and performance of their parents. It makes a significant hardening of the social phenomenon that elevates the rank of important national objective. There is no exaggeration in saying that scientifically sound methods of hardening are inexhaustible sources of augmentation of the children health of different ages.
     Availability of hardening means is that they are always at hand, the main thing that can be used in one form or another, under any circumstances. Now with the «Ice-cold Shower» device you can temper the whole family at any time of the year. Finally, the popular wisdom says: a sound mind in a sound body
